There's something so powerful when a woman shows up for herself.
My entire life, I've made excuses for why I don't do what I really want to do. Too tired, to late, to early, too many distractions, etc.
There were things I wanted in my life that I just wouldn't commit to- health, business, relationship goals that I knew would benefit from more discipline and attention, but I didn't make them a priority. I always had too many other things filling up the time.
We're not all like this in every way. We all have the things we're perfectly disciplined in, and almost never waver- things like getting to work on time, making dinner, checking the mail. We do at least the minimum we need to do to get by- and everyone's minimum is different.
I decided to change my minimums. We all have some things that are our “bare minimum”- perhaps (hopefully) things like brushing your teeth, putting gas in your car. Now, my minimum includes a daily meditation practice, workout, and writing, among others. This isn't negotiable for me- I don't miss these things unless it's a terrific reason- and even then, I make sure I've explored every option first.
Raise your minimum. Raise your personal setpoint for yourself. Change your bare minimum to accommodate the life you'd love to have- and watch it unfold for you.
Do you allow yourself to “coast” and just do the bare minimum, instead of powerfully showing up for yourself?
What could you do today that would impress you?
